"My friends from the Carpathian region once asked me to look after their household while they were away. I took this photo on my way to their place. Usually I take a different shorter route but this time I decided to take a train. Commuters usually avoid this option because of the train’s inconvenient route and schedule. After we stopped at one of the stations, most of the passengers got off and I was left almost alone in the train car. I don’t like sharing the ride with other passengers in the compartment, so it was exactly what I wanted. It is part of the culture here: your fellow travelers do not come alone, but with a long story – be prepared to hear it.
The train passed through a picturesque forested area. It was at the end of May when the nature’s palette was freshly green. The empty compartment was an ideal place to watch the rapidly changing scenery – all to myself, you just have to catch it! The road itself felt like a continuous anticipation, an anticipation of an adventure. This photo is about that feeling." – Zhenya Trifonova
